Why is animal conservation important?
Without animals, humans would not exist. Without animals, the world would face several daunting problems such as disruption of food chains, less pollination, and others.
Some facts
As per W.I.I., there are currently 573 wildlife parks, 106 national parks, and 55 tiger reserves in India.
Less than 20,000 sloth bears remain in India and Sri Lanka. This is mainly because of deforestation and illegal trafficking.
There are over 300 national parks in Africa. Out of these, some of the most common are Masai Mara, Kruger, Serengeti, Lake Nakuru, and Amboseli.
